Amy is a multi-disciplinary circus performer specializing in aerial rope. She loves the challenge of the vertical apparatus and the freedom of dynamic movement. Her circus expertise includes fabric, sling, single-point and static trapeze, bottle-walking, juggling, modern and tap dance. She is co-founder of The Disco Belles, (some might say “the personality”).

This fearless Seattle native has always been athletic. She enjoyed years of basketball, cycling, yoga, and dance, then started exploring aerial arts in 2012. In 2019, she fully committed to circus arts, studying with renowned aerial coaches including PJ Perry, Terry Crane, Jenn Bruyer, Alex Alan, Liza Rose, and juggling master Nickolai Pirak. She has performed at the Woodland Park Zoo, Fred Wildlife Refuge, Seattle Erotic Arts Festival, and Open Air Vashon.

When not dangling from or balancing atop things, Amy can be found gardening, volunteering at a local food bank, and playing with her cat Danko.

This is what people are saying:

Amy is a radiant performer whose acts always draw audiences in and keep them enthralled. From a producer perspective, she is a pleasure to work with—she always submits her act information early and arrives to gigs before call time, ready to go. She is low-maintenance and flexible on site, and always a cheerful presence in the greenroom. She has created fantastic, theme-specific acts for many of my events, and always executes stunning performances.

Amy is an extraordinary performer who consistently blows me away with her creative takes and breathtaking moves.

Always professional, reliable, on-time, and on-point.  I’m so excited to book her again to see what magic she creates.

Underneath Amy’s cheerful demeanor, sultry makeup, and flashy costumes (that she makes herself!) is an aerial badass and creative pioneer. She’s always working on a new project, playing with a unique apparatus, or polishing some skill so burly it makes your hands sweat just thinking about it.

She’s also such a pleasure to create with! Her skill, versatility, and enthusiasm make the creative provess so much fun and anything she’s a part of always has that Funbuttons sparkle.

I love watching Amy perform. She is this wonderful combination of badass and playful, strong and graceful, youthful and wise, confident and vulnerable. Every act is different but uniquely Amy's. She constantly inspires me to reach further in my own aerial practice and makes me feel valued and supported as I do so.

Do you remember that feeling when you had your first trip to the circus or to a variété show like Moisture Festival? Excitement. A little naughty. Maybe a crush bubbled up in your belly? Amy Funbuttons is your new crush. She is a joy to experience. Her sly look will catch you unaware and then suddenly she is upside down and you forgot you had hands that should be clapping. Amy has strength, grace, humor, ink and sparkles. Her heart of gold is on a platter for you to relish. Y’all should get some Funbuttons in your life.

When Amy performs, it is clear that she wants her audience to have an amazing time. Whether performing in a comedic style or showcasing incredible dynamic movement, she throws herself into it and her joy is apparent. I have also had the pleasure of witnessing Amy working with other aerialists and she is generous with her advice and time when helping others, she actively seeks feedback, and skillfully works to incorporate critiques.
